DESCRIPTION:We are also planning our STN Kid’s Constitution Class for September. It will be open to middle school and high school aged students. We will be seeking participation from public schools\, Christian schools\, home schoolers\, and youth group kids. \n Dr. Rebecca Janney (PhD) will be presenting the program for us. Dr. Janney is a multi-award-winning author of 26 books. She is a graduate of Lafayette College and Princeton Theological Seminary. She received her doctorate from Biblical Seminary. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. \nDr. Janney is a period actor who will bring the students into the world of the original drafters of our Constitution. The students will become a part of the event as Dr. Janney brings the Constitution and its creation to life. \nSpread the word and if you have middle school and high school aged students watch for our event registration. We know that the Kid’s Constitution Class will fill up fast.

DESCRIPTION:STN is fortunate to have a true depiction of what a Revolutionary War soldier/militia soldier experienced. Chuck is a living history reenactor. He will take the audience back to 1776 and engage us as though we were there with him. He will be attired in a period uniform and he will explain the firearms and accoutrements that were worn and used in battle.

SUMMARY:May Monthly Meeting - Senior scholarship winners’ essays and gift presentation
DESCRIPTION:Join us for STN’s Second Annual Senior Scholarship Awards Ceremony: STN’s Board of Directors was challenged this year to select the best high school senior essay written about the US Constitution. Last year we awarded one scholarship. This year the contestants were numerous\, and all of the essays were excellent. Therefore\, we narrowed the field to 4 submissions. We will be awarding a first and second place scholarship awards to two students from the Upper Perk High School\, and also first and second place scholarships will be awarded to two students from Faith Christian Academy.\nWe will also have a presentation from Joe Nock on the distinction between a Constitutional Republic and a Democracy.
